The Worst Advice We've Heard About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats. Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount. Item Level The value of an item's stats base increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded. It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear, since PvP is limited at a lower level. The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet. When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the item level. It's a measure of the item's damage and quality. The item level can also be used to compare items when looking at a vendor's inventory. On PC, you are able to see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. It can also be located by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat. There are a variety of theories on how the item level is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzard's actual item level. It's not the only factor that affects the value of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped can change its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit score. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances. Item Stats The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being “the most effective.” The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods which are then enhanced by the player's level. Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs. Another way to change the stats on an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item. All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, as with other rerolling methods. In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat within that range unless they are an exclusive item, or a God Roll from a boss in a raid. Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to increase. Similar to base equipment, it would have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously. Item Luck The Luck stat of a player boosts the chance of finding items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade item s. It gives players the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in the early game, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains. In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing. Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of the item up to 140. Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients. Item Failure Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it fails. The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%. The Luck of an item may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have a success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%. The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
